The True Meaning of Santorum

I received a message today from a Santorum friend in the UK who suggested that we start a campaign to get the true definition of santorum into the Oxford English Dictionary (aka the Bible). I, for one, think it's a grand idea.

So, if you also think that "the frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex" is OED worthy, you should let them know through their submission page.

Keep it frothy!

  1. Completely agree! Then Merriam Webster and onward!

  2. That's a good idea. In order for it to hold up though, you'd probably need to provide references of "small S" santorum being used WITHOUT reference to the man ("big S" Santorum), by a publication other than The Stranger (where the word was coined; although references showing the development of the neologism need to be included too), and not by Dan himself (since that's too easy!). Such evidence must surely exist though, right? Any pointers?

(n.b. I've seen documentaries about how decisions are made to add new entries to the OED, which is why I say this)

  3. OED wants a reference in print. Ya got a link to an article?

  4. Santorum will be accepted as a real word when it's used as a real word. Maybe populate this page less with stuff about big-S Santorum and more with articles about how to prevent little-s santorum and get it out of a bedsheet and stuff. Spreading Santorum might be the #1 Google hit for S-A-N-T-O-R-U-M, but there are no organic incidences of little-s santorum above the fold.

(Feel free to joke about not wanting to have santorum above the fold in your sheets.)

  5. I remember the phrase sanctus (holy) sanctorum (of holies), the Holy of Holies, the Holiest place, perhaps where the priest or rabbi speaks to God, also a place where one retreats to be alone, an inviolable sanctuary. Seems like, with the candidate's obsession over other people's use of their sanctorum, his name may have had this etymology. I think we can have fun with the word play.

  6. Only a limited number of individuals can testify to the accuracy of said definition. I am not among them.

You? ... more likely, I think.

  7. The best way to avoid santorum is to douche your rectum before engaging in anal sex.

  8. Santorum (the substance) sounds disgusting to a tremendous degree. I am wondering how it manifests itself though. Does it ooze out immediately after anally receptive intercourse, or does it come out with the next bowl movement?

    1. Seems the definition requires anal sex to have begun which means it can refer to during and anytime after such activity as long as the mixture is still frothy.

  9. Really....must there be a word to describe frothy fecal matter? How about using words which already exist? Such as, unnatural fecal incontinence caused by unnatural behavior? How fun for the community which enjoys this practice to have word play. Small minds amused by frothy fecal matter. Figures.
